USB Safely Remove is a Windows utility designed as an advanced, user-friendly replacement for the native "Safely Remove Hardware" tool. Its primary purpose is to improve the management, monitoring, and safe removal of hot-swappable devices (such as USB flash drives, external hard drives, SATA and FireWire drives, and card readers), ensuring that no data is lost or corrupted during the process.
Key Features
• Block identification: Precisely identifies which programs or background processes are using the device and preventing its removal. It also allows you to force-close these processes to safely release the drive.
• Device reconnection: Features a unique function that allows you to reconnect a device that has been stopped via software without physically unplugging it from the USB port and plugging it back in.
• One-click removal and reconnection: Includes an optimized system tray menu that displays actual device names and icons, making it easy to stop devices quickly.
• Advanced customization: Allows you to rename devices, assign custom icons, and hide empty drives, card readers, or dongles that do not require removal from the interface.
• Keyboard shortcuts: Offers the ability to configure key combinations (global shortcuts) to immediately stop or eject devices without using the mouse.
• Script-based automation: Allows you to configure programs or automated tasks to run right before removing a device or immediately after connecting one. It also supports commands via its command-line tool, usr.exe.
• Drive management: Simplifies the management of assigned drive letters, volume labels, and the mounting of devices directly into Windows folders.
